Courses
Bits and Bots Learning offers a range of courses in coding, electronics and robotics, taught by a fully registered teacher with extensive experience across a range of different technologies.
Students will work in a fully equipped learning studio, with each student provided access to a personal computer configured with a wide range of software development tools.
Each course runs for 8 weekly sessions during term.
Introduction to Coding and Robotics
This is the ideal starter course, focusing on the development of fundamental coding skills within a hands-on learning environment.
Students will initially develop games using block-based coding in Scratch, before applying these coding skills in electronics and robotics, where they will also have the opportunity to start using more advanced text-based languages.
Game Development
In this course students will be introduced to game development. Students begin by developing interactive and non-linear stories using Twine.
Other modules in this course will focus on the development of 2D games using Scratch, with a focus on developing problem solving and coding skills.
Robotics
Students will build a robot that will then be controlled with code that they write themselves.
Using a variety of attached motors and sensors, students will code the robots to move autonomously, avoid obstacles, follow lines and collect objects.
